US OPEN TICKETS – US Open Tennis Championship is a hardcourt competition held annually in late August and early September for the weeks just before and after Labor Day weekend. The US Open tournament is played on acrylic hard courts at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center at Flushing Meadows – Corona Park in Queens, New York City. The US Open consists of five different event championships: Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Mixed Doubles, and Mixed Doubles – along with additional tournaments for Senior, Junior, and Wheelchair players. The US Open has tiebreaks in every set, including the last set. The US Open, also known as Flushing Meadows tournament, is the fourth and final tennis major competition in the Grand Slam Tournament series each year.

US Open Tennis Championship offers a purse of $24,054,000 US- an increase of more than two million dollars from 2011. In 1973 the US Open became the first Grand Slam tournament to award equal prize money to men and women. That year's singles champions John Newcombe and Margaret Court each received $25,000. All courts used by the US Open are illuminated, enabling night play. In 1978 the tournament moved from the West Side Tennis Club, Forest Hills to the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, Queens, The surface of the playing courts went from grass to clay, to hard courts. Jimmy Connors is the only individual to have won US Open singles titles on all surfaces (grass, clay, hardcourt). Chris Evert is the only woman to win on two surfaces (clay, hardcourt) US Open is the only Grand Slam tournament that has been played every year since its inception.
